Serving as the “ignition” driving engineering in the renewables sector

I believe that engineering means correctly understanding societal needs, selecting existing or new technologies, and combining them to provide the optimal solutions. The renewables sector is a new domain and because of this societal needs change quickly and the pace of technological innovation is also rapid. By constantly pursuing advanced technologies and actively adopting the technologies which we have judged that it would offer the best solution, we will implement challenging projects. I believe that RENOVA must serve as the ignition, “igniting the renewables industry itself by making advanced technology widely used in the industry” and “pursuing value engineering to establish self-sustaining renewable energy systems.” RENOVA aims to be a driver of renewable energy sector engineering and a leader in decarbonization solutions.

“Strong hypothesis” that increases project value and new technology that is “half a step ahead”

Our engineering approach is to first use the intuition that stems from experience and knowledge to develop a “strong hypothesis.” We then refine the hypothesis itself by thoroughly researching precedents both in Japan and overseas and testing the hypothesis in reality, and repeating these processes over and over again. When developing a “strong hypothesis,” we actively test technology that is “half a step ahead,” and if we are pleased with the results, we take the risk of adopting it even if it has never been used before to increase the value of the project itself. I believe that RENOVA is a fantastic environment for engineers, offering them opportunities for growth they will not find elsewhere.

Multi-field engineers, combining technical problem-solving skills and people skills

The renewables and green transformation (GX) field is a new domain integrating many different areas such as construction, civil engineering, mechanics, electrical engineering, thermodynamics and fluid mechanics. RENOVA has a team of multi-field engineers who, in addition to technical problem-solving skills in many different areas, also have the enthusiasm to take on new challenges and the people skills to be able to build relationships of trust with diverse stakeholders. By combining their expertise and respectfully learning from each other as they struggle with exceptionally difficult problems in new areas, all members of the team achieve personal growth. The work of a multi-field engineer is very rewarding as all team members are working towards the same goal and constantly rising to the next challenge.

If you would like to drive engineering in the renewable energy and GX sector and you would like to increase your range as an engineer and achieve personal growth, then this is the challenge for you.
