Approximately 40 Students from the National University of Singapore and Miyagi University Visit Sendai Biomass Power Plant

Approximately 40 students from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Miyagi University visited the Sendai Biomass Power Plant as part of a workshop to learn about earthquake disaster reconstruction and urban planning.

On the day of the visit, in addition to a plant tour of the power plant, the students visited the “Sendai 3.11 Memorial Community Center” and the “Gamo Nakano Nostalgia Museum,
” which pass on memories of the disaster to future generations. The students expressed deep admiration for our local and environmental initiatives that involve additional investments, such as the adoption of an air-cooled condenser designed to protect the marine environment, a design featuring elevated major equipment as a tsunami countermeasure, and the establishment of the Nostalgia Museum as a place for former residents to relax.

We received many enthusiastic questions regarding the mechanism of large-scale biomass power generation, which does not exist in their home country (Singapore).
