The “Nasu-Shiobara Solar Power Plant” has been featured in the Natural Energy Foundation’s case study collection

Our “Nasu-Shiobara Solar Power Plant” was featured in the “Renewable Energy × Regional Revitalization” report (pp. 9–10) published by the Renewable Energy Foundation, a public interest incorporated foundation.

This report summarizes the efforts of Nasu-Shiobara City—known as “the top raw milk-producing city on Honshu”—to promote local production and consumption of energy centered on dairy farming, as well as its initiatives to build a disaster-resilient community.

In the report, our power plant (26.2 MW capacity, operations began in September 2015) is highlighted as a mega-solar project developed in a way that preserves the forest. The report details the process from the environmental assessment conducted prior to development, through the design that balanced ecosystem conservation with landscape considerations, to post-commissioning dialogue with the local community and the establishment of our in-house “Regional Committee.”
