A hiire-shiki (igniting ceremony) was held on October 21th, 2022.
This ceremony is a Shinto ritual held to pray for the safety of the power plant before initiating the combustion in the boiler (the apparatus that heats water by burning fuel to generate high-temperature, high-pressure steam).

The test run is finally in full swing and is on track for the commencement of commercial operation in March 2023.
