On November 11, we conducted our annual fire prevention drill within the power plant. This drill simulated a scenario involving abnormally high temperatures and rising carbon dioxide concentrations inside a wood pellet fuel tank. In response, we replicated and verified the nitrogen injection procedure into the tank, following the actual sequence of operations. This involved utilizing both the nitrogen injection equipment installed at the plant and a liquid nitrogen tanker truck.

Conducted with the presence of the Ishinomaki Fire Department Minami Substation, this drill focused on confirming initial response actions and communication protocols based on a realistic accident scenario.

We will utilize the insights and lessons learned from this drill and continue conducting regular training to further strengthen the power plant’s fire prevention and disaster preparedness systems.
