Taking on the Twenty-First Century’s Biggest Challenges

Representative Director

Environmental issues were already becoming a major issue back in 2000. But hardly any businesses took any concrete action and even more so, here in Japan, no company took environmental issues seriously as “business.” I founded RENOVA thinking “in that case, we just gotta do it!”

More than 20 years on and both Japan and the rest of the world are finally starting to face up to these issues, and society as a whole has started taking action to tackle them. This is our chance. I believe that, as those living through this era, we have responsibility to overcome these issues before the end of this twenty-first century.

Originating in Japan, RENOVA is leading the transformation of energy systems worldwide

Especially since the start of the 2020s, the paradigm shift in the energy sector as a whole has accelerated. Countries around the world are enhancing social systems for a sustainable society, sustainable technologies are also being developed, and large amounts of funds are on standby for investments and loans. It has to be said, however, that unfortunately, there are not nearly enough businesses ready to take the lead and make this their mission. This is particularly true in Asia.

Meanwhile, RENOVA has spent the past 10 years putting all its effort into the development of the renewable energy power generation business as an independent pure-play renewables actor. As a result, we have achieved some success, with an industry-leading generation capacity and a proven track record in project financing. That said, I feel that we are completely failing to keep up with the overwhelming scale of the environmental issues and that we are not fully meeting the demands of regions and customers.

The three main strands of future business strategies to meet these needs are: (1) to continuously expand the renewable energy power generation business in Japan, (2) to actively expand the development of energy sources overseas, especially Asia, and (3) we envision expansion of the energy infrastructure on the assumption of mass adoption of renewables and the decarbonization of other industries besides the energy industry. Rapidly growing Asian economies, global corporations in all parts of the world, and Japanese businesses are all under pressure to decarbonize and are looking for a partner with strong problem solving capabilities to achieve this. I want RENOVA to do its best to answer these calls and become one of Asia’s largest decarbonization solution providers by 2030, whilst steadily building a track record globally.

Creating a Dream Team in the renewables industry

RENOVA’s mission is realize “societal transformation through energy transformation.”
One after another, talented individuals with different ages, genders, nationalities and skillsets who share this vision and have a challenging spirit are joining the RENOVA team.
We intend to further expand this platform that is RENOVA. We need more talent, more colleagues, to overcome huge global issues that are full of complexity and risk and are currently unsolved.

RENOVA is directly involved in solving such issues.
And yet there is still a slew of problems waiting to be tackled so if you are the kind of person who will get excited about leading the world in persistently tackling these issues on your own initiative, then RENOVA wants to hear from you.
Join us in creating a Dream Team in the renewables industry!
