SDGs SDGs SDGs Coexistence with local communities

Contribution to regional revitalization through renewable energy power generation projects

Revitalization of regional industry

Business operation in collaboration with local businesses

Creation of local jobs

Job creation through power plant operation and facility maintenance

Effective use of land

SDGs SDGs Various secondary benefits from green energy

Offshore wind power generation augments the riches of the sea

It is confirmed that marine organisms attach onto wind turbine structures for offshore wind power generation and fish gather around them.

Biomass power generation to reactivate forests

The Akita Biomass Power Plant makes use of unused material generated in Akita Prefecture to play a part in forest activation. The utilization of unused material that was once left in mountains paves the way for planting and leads to the creation of new jobs. We operate power plants that energizes both forests and employment.

SDGs Education on and dissemination of green energy

Initiatives to open the future with green energy education

Green energy workshops for students

RENOVA provides junior and senior high schoolchildren with opportunities of learning on climate change and on active utilization of green energy.

Learning about green energy at power plants

RENOVA offers plastic sheets explaining how electricity is generated to elementary and junior high schoolchildren visiting any of its large-scale solar power plants for study purposes.

Education on and dissemination of green energy

SDGs Green energy from different locations across the country

Power generation projects using green energy at different locations in Japan

Power generation projects in operation and under development at 24 locations in 21 regions in Japan

No power plant could be developed or operated without cooperative relationships with local governments and local stakeholders. After development, RENOVA pursues its corporate philosophy of making locally-based power plants.

What are the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)?

On September 25-27, 2015, the United Nations Summit on Sustainable Development took place. With the participation of heads of state and government from more than 150 member states, the meeting adopted an outcome document entitled Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Serving as a plan of action for people, planet and prosperity, this Agenda includes a declaration and the Sustainable Development Goals, consisting of 17 goals and 169 targets.
